The following appointments made by me since July 1997 to the board of Aer Rianta have been made in accordance with existing legislation and have followed the practice and procedures set down by my predecessors:

By statute, the Chief Executive of Aer Rianta isex-officio, a director of the Company. The current Chief Executive, Mr. John Burke, was appointed to the Board on 22nd September 1998. The three current worker directors on the board, Mr. Cecil Brett, Mr. Peter Dunne and Mr. Pat Fitzgerald were appointed on 1 January 2002 following their election in accordance with the provisions of the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Acts, 1977 to 1993.
