141 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Defence the position regarding an extension of time of Kildare County Council's lease of a site for the travelling community at McGee Barracks, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7776/02]
An area of approximately one acre at Magee Barracks has been made available to Kildare County Council since December 2000 to provide a temporary halting site for members of the travelling community. Kildare County Council has recently requested that the term be extended. The matter is being examined in my Department at present.
142 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Defence the position regarding the pitch and putt course at McGee Barracks, County Kildare; his views on the leasing of the course to interested local community groups; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7777/02]
I regret to say that the proposal cannot be acceded to as the facility in question has ceased to exist.
