262 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if the Irish Medicines Board has confirmed to him that they have issued new guidelines in order to distance themselves from the pharmaceutical industry as a result of submissions made from the public on the regulation of herbal medicines. The Irish Medicines Board has not issued any new guidelines as a result of submissions made from the public on the regulation of herbal medicine. The board is satisfied that its current procedures and guidelines ensure that there is an appropriate relationship between the board and all of its stakeholders including the pharmaceutical industry and that the board members and staff fulfil all necessary requirements in relation to avoidance of any conflict of interest.
