Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children if he received an application for approval of a package compiled by the Minister of State, Deputy Ó Cuív, for the purchase and re-opening of the Stella Maris Convent, Lisdoonvarna, County Clare; the terms which the Mid-Western Health Board have agreed to; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Financial support for the refurbishment of the Stella Maris Nursing Home, Lisdoonvarna is being made available under the CLÁR programme which is under the auspices of my colleague the Minister for State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, Deputy Ó Cúiv. The basis on which the Mid-Western Health Board could become involved in the provision of services at the home is currently the subject of discussion between the board and my Department which is favourably disposed to it.
