Ceist:

416 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if his Department has a library or if another library comes under the aegis of his Department; the way in which staff are recruited to such libraries; if there are vacancies at the present time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs (Mr. D. Ahern):

My Department's library service is administered by officials in general service grades appointed in the normal course through the Civil Service Commission. There are currently four staff – one part-time, two full-time and one worksharer – assigned to work in this area. There are no vacancies at present.
