448 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the reason for the delay in payment being made regarding compensation for the ewe supplementary measure for a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7741/02]
It would appear that a duplicate payment was made to the person named in the previous year of this scheme. Officials of Dúchas, the heritage service of my Department, are currently investigating the matter to ascertain what payment, if any, is due to the person for losses arising from the 30% de-stocking in 2001. Once the matter has been clarified the person named will be contacted and any payment owing will issue.
