201 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the position regarding a suckler cow appeal for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [8384/02]

The herd owner lodged an appeal on 26 February 2002 concerning his 2001 suckler cow premium application. Appeals require individual examination and are dealt with in the order in which they are received. The appeal will be examined as soon as possible and the herd owner will be notified of the outcome.

202 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will receive a suckler cow payment; the payments made to this person for 2000 and 2001; the payment outstanding for 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8385/02]

The person named applied for premium for eight cows under the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme. He has been paid his 100% entitlement of £884.34 for six cows, as he only holds quota for this number of cows.

The person named applied for premium for six cows and one heifer under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. Following an inspection on the 7 December 2001, it was found that the applicant was not compliant with the requirements under the identification and registration of bovine animals. My Department wrote to the applicant on 15 March 2002 informing him that following a review of his case, it has been decided to allow payment on all animals submitted for 2001 suckler cow scheme up to his quota limit of six.
