244 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a decision will be made on an area aid appeal by a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9127/02]

The herdowner lodged an appeal on 7 January 2002 concerning his 2001 area aid application. Appeals require individual examination and are dealt with in the order in which they are received. This appeal will be examined shortly and the herdowner will be notified of the outcome.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

245 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a farm waste management grant payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry. [9131/02]

Payment for €3,292.44 issued to the person named under the scheme of investment aid for farm waste management on 8 March 2002.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

246 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his attention has been drawn to the long delay in expediting payment of 2001 area aid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; the amount of payment due; the arrangements which are being made to expedite this payment in view of the previous assurances given that payment would have been made before the current date; and when payment will be available to this person. [9132/02]

The person named was a new applicant for area aid in 2001 and all the necessary controls and checks in respect of his application have been completed. While this process was in progress the person was informed that his payment would be made as a matter of priority. A payment of €2,838.33 has now been made. His application has been cleared on an area of 7.41 hectares.
