Ceist:265 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the delay in issuing premia payments to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [9305/02]

The 2001 area aid application of the person named was fully processed and the area determined for payment is 32.84 hectares. Payment due under the area-based compensatory allowance scheme has issued to her.
The person named submitted applications in respect of 16 animals for special beef premium in 2001 for 13 animals and three animals respectively. An 80% advance payment has issued in respect of these animals this week.
Advance payment has issued to the person named in respect of one animal for slaughter premium 2001 and national envelope slaughter premium 2001 top-up.
The person named applied for premium for 13 animals under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. Payment of her 80% advance issued on 26 November 2001. Following a further examination of her area aid details the 20% balance payment has now issued.
However, it should be noted that payment of 2001 extensification premium is not scheduled to commence until June 2002.
