Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - Pensions Board.

Ruairí Quinn

Ceist:

543 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he has succeeded in getting the Pensions Board to provide a copy of an interim report following an investigation into concerns raised by a person (details supplied) about which he has been kept informed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9053/02]

I understand that the Pensions Board received a report from KPMG, the consultants who had been conducting the investigation under section 18 of the Pensions Act, 1990, on 19 December 2001. The board con siders that a number of issues remain to be addressed by the consultants and they have already been asked to do this in order to ensure that the report deals fully with all the issues that are being investigated. I am informed that the board is to receive the finalised report no later than 26 April 2002 and will publish it as soon as possible after that date.

It should be noted that the issues that are being investigated are historical. The Pensions Board is not aware of any current issues relating to the security of the assets of the pension plan in question or the benefits to which the members of the scheme are entitled.
