Ceist:

570 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands further to Parliamentary Question No. 451 of 7 March 2002, regarding the independent committee which considered all eligible applications under the ACCESS scheme, the dates on which the independent committee sat; when it finished its work; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8846/02]

Ceist:

571 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands further to Parliamentary Question No. 451 of 7 March 2002 when the letter confirming a local contribution for the Cill Rialaig project was received in her Department. [8847/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 570 and 571 together.

The deadline for receipt of applications for ACCESS funding was 31 October 2000 and the independent advisory committee, established by me to consider eligible applications, sat on 14 and 15 March 2001 and 3, 4, 10 and 27 April 2001. The committee completed its work on 27 April 2001. I understand that the confirmation of a local contribution for the Cill Rialaig project was received in my Department on 11 May 2001 and could not, therefore, be factored into the committee's deliberations.
