Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - Naturalisation Certificates.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

620 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of an application for naturalisation or citizenship by a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9125/02]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that I have recently approved the application for a certificate of naturalisation in respect of the person referred to and a certificate of naturalisation will issue as soon as certain statutory and other requirements, including the making of a declaration of loyalty to the State and fidelity to the nation and payment of the statutory fee, have been complied with.

In line with the undertaking given in my response to Question No. 327 on 5 February last, letters advising the applicant and the Deputy of my decision were issued from the citizenship section of my Department on 12 and 13 March last.
