Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

887 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if, arising from the various discussions between his Department and Kildare County Council, and the reports relating to the road safety of students, parents and teachers at St. Wolstan's community school, Celbridge, County Kildare, agreement has been reached regarding the full extent of works or actions required to meet optimum safety standards; the extent to which funding has been identified in relation to such works; the time scale for same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9288/02]

A traffic management report has been completed and brought to the attention of my Department. The report raised a number of issues that require to be addressed by Kildare County Council. A copy of the report has been forwarded to the county council for its attention and appropriate action. Decisions regarding the works considered necessary, the carrying out of such works and the associated time frame are matters for Kildare County Council.
