297 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children his proposals to prepare a national strategy for psychiatry in view of comments made by a person (details supplied) that such a strategy would help to focus available health resources into the services. [10093/02]

The recently published health strategy, Quality and Fairness – A Health System for You, includes a commitment to prepare a national policy framework for the further modernisation of the mental health services, updating the 1984 policy document, Planning for the Future.
