514 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education and Science the position concerning the building of additional accommodation which was sanctioned by his Department for Coláiste Abbain, Enniscorthy, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9968/02]
An application has been received from County Wexford Vocational Education Committee in respect of an extension and refurbishment works at Adamstown vocational school. To determine the long-term enrolment on which the school's accommodation requirements will be based, all relevant factors, including demographic trends in the area and the school's expanding further education activities, are being considered.
A decision on the application will be taken shortly and the school management authorities will be advised of the outcome. On receipt of the agreement of County Wexford Vocational Education Committee, the projected long-term enrolment will be forwarded to the post primary building unit, which will then decide how best to provide the accommodation required.
