Determination of eligibility to a medical card is, by legislation, the responsibility of the chief executive officer of the relevant health board, in this case, the South-Eastern Health Board. Accordingly, the case has been referred to him for investigation and he has been asked to contact the Deputy directly when the investigation is complete.
