339 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for an MRI scan in Galway. [11478/02]

The provision of hospital services in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to you.

341 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department will investigate the circumstances of a person (details supplied) in County Offaly who is awaiting an appointment to Beaumont Hospital and has been given a date of 27 January 2003; and, in view of concern expressed as to the person's health, the steps he proposes to take to ensure appropriate medical attention. [11489/02]

Responsibility for the provision of health services to persons living in County Offaly rests with the Midland Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
