522 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if Whitehall Garda station is investigating the theft of money from the account of a person (details supplied) at Dublin City University, despite the fact that he made a full statement to Whitehall Garda station. [10982/02]
I am informed by the Garda authorities that the gardaí at Whitehall are investigating a complaint made by the person in question relating to an allegation of misappropriation of funds from a research account at Dublin City University. I understand it is expected that the investigation will be finalised shortly. The Deputy will appreciate that the investigation of a criminal complaint is an operational matter for the Garda authorities and I cannot comment further on the matter.
