Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - Public Dance Licences.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

546 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Parliamentary Question No. 288 of 27 November 2001, the reason the disco continues in this unauthorised premises; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11343/02]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that a court case is pending against the club in question. It is being prosecuted for not having a public dance licence and the case is due to be heard at Dublin Metropolitan District Court No. 52 at 2 p.m. on 1 May 2002. The case arises from a Garda inspection of the premises in question on 24 November 2001. I am further informed that the situation is being closely monitored by the Garda pending the outcome of this case.
