Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

John Perry

Ceist:

576 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 864 of 3 October 2001, he will again intervene with the Land Registry Office on behalf of a person (detail supplied) in County Roscommon and have the dealing processed immediately as all documentation has been lodged; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11817/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles this application under section 49, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, was lodged on 30 April 2001. Due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, can take some time to process. I am further informed that queries issued to the lodging solicitor on 16 November 2001 and that the application cannot proceed until these queries have been satisfactorily resolved. I assure the Deputy that the application will receive further consideration as soon as a satisfactory reply to these queries is received.
