Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - Companies Registration.

David Stanton

Ceist:

73 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of certificates of incorporation on change of name issued by her Department in 2000; the names of the companies involved; the new names in each case; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11483/02]

There are some 146,000 companies registered in the Companies Registration Office. In the year 2000, over 2,800 changes of name were approved and registered by the office. The register of companies gives details of the name of each separate company registered together with details of any changes of name registered by each company. No separate register is maintained of those companies that have changed their name. Accordingly it is not readily possible to give the Deputy the details he has requested. [11483/02]
