Vol. 552 No. 2

Written Answers. - Bullying in the Workplace.

Ulick Burke

Ceist:

97 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to complaints of bullying of staff in the Midland Health Board by senior personnel where complaints by the staff have been ignored by management; the action he will take to ensure that proper procedure is followed and the stated difficulties rectified as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12280/02]

Responsibility for human resource management, including investigating complaints into allegations of bullying, is a matter for the chief executive of each individual health agency, in this case the Midland Health Board. I have referred this matter to the chief executive officer of the board concerned for direct reply to the Deputy. The Deputy may wish to note that there are detailed procedures for the investigation of allegations of bullying in place in each individual health board.
