Ceist:123 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when an application for residency will be finalised for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [13992/02]

The person in question has applied for permission to remain based on his parentage of an Irish citizen child born in January 2002. Applications of this nature are dealt with in chronological order and as my Department is currently dealing with applications in respect of children born in May 2001 it is likely to be several months before the application in question is finalised.
