96 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science the funding made available to the various youth organisations in 2001; the amount made available to date in 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14049/02]
My Department provided funding of €8,810,488 in 2001 to 33 national voluntary youth organisations under the youth service grants scheme. Having regard to ongoing commitments, the projected expenditure for this scheme for 2002 currently stands at €9,434,309 which represents a 7% increase in funding this year over 2001.
