Vol. 553 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

193 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the way in which spending in the first six months of 2002 compares to the budgeted profile for spending for each major programme of his Department's spending; and his forecast for year end overruns. [15111/02]

John Bruton

Ceist:

196 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the 2002 Estimates of public capital spending by his Department; if the net expenditure under headings is likely on present trends to be exceeded; and, if so, the amount by which in each case. [15270/02]

I propose to take Questions No. 193 and 196 together.

I refer the Deputy to the public capital programme, 2002, published by the Department of Finance which contains the 2002 public capital Estimates. As the Deputy will be aware, a number of functions have, in the interim, transferred between Government Departments, including my own.

Expenditure by my Department this year to date, including in relation to those functions that have recently transferred to my Department and taking account of the Supplementary Estimate passed by the Dáil on 25 June 2002, is broadly in line with budgeted profiles and no overruns are anticipated at year end.
