225 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Health and Children the position in relation to the provision of new facilities and the upgrading of existing facilities at the five general hospitals in the North Eastern Health Board area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15266/02]
Responsibility for the provision of new facilities and the upgrading of existing facilities at the five acute hospitals in the north eastern area rests with the North Eastern Health Board, NEHB. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the NEHB to investigate the matter raised and respond directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
