Vol. 553 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

284 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the way in which spending in the first six months of 2002 compares to the budgeted profile for spending for each major programme of his Department's spending; and his forecast for year-end overruns. [15115/02]

John Bruton

Ceist:

287 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the 2002 estimates of public capital spending by his Department; if the net expenditure under headings is likely on present trends to be exceeded; and if so, the amount by which in each case. [15298/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 284 and 287 together.

The public capital estimates for my Department are contained in the Public Capital Programme 2002 which was published by the Department of Finance. The Deputy will also be aware that since the publication of the PCP 2002, a number of functions have transferred between Departments, including my own.
Expenditure trends by my Department this year to date, including those functions that have recently transferred to my Department, do not suggest that there will be any overruns at year end.
