294 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the way in which spending in the first six months of 2002 compares to the budgeted profile for spending for each major programme of her Department's spending; and her forecast for year-end overruns. [15116/02]
Expenditure returns are not yet available for the months of May and June and it is, therefore, not possible to provide the information requested by the Deputy. At this stage, however, based on spending to end April, my Department is not forecasting end-year overspends on either Vote or Social Insurance Fund expenditure this year. A clearer picture as to likely outturns on all the Estimates provisions will emerge when the detailed mid-year review is completed in July.
