Bruton asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has reviewed the Strategy Statement for his Department for 2001-04 prepared for the previous Government; and if he proposes to make alterations to it in view of his personal priorities or the contents of the new Programme for Government. The Department of Foreign Affairs Strategy Statement for 2001-03 continues to be valid and relevant. I am reviewing it as required by the Public Service Management Act, 1997 and in the light of the content of the programme for Government. On the basis of this review, I will decide within the six month period laid down by the Act what, if any, changes to the strategy should be made.
