Written Answers. - Departmental Reorganisation.
I recently informed the House that I intend that my Department will produce a new strategy statement within the period specified in the Public Service Management Act, 1997. The new statement will take into account progress made under the current strategy statement, developments in the overall socio-economic environment and the specific priorities set out in An Agreed Programme for Government. Should the matter of reorganisation of the Department arise, it will be in the context of the implementation requirements arising from the review of the Department's existing strategy and the formulation of the new strategy statement for the period 2003 to 2005, inclusive.
