A recent study by the Simon Communities of Ireland examined the potential for a deposit guarantee scheme aimed at accommodating homeless people in private rented accommodation. I understand that the Homeless Agency, which is responsible for implementing the Dublin homeless action plan and overseeing the delivery of all services to homeless persons in the Dublin area, is examining the feasibility of such a scheme as one of a number of options for providing suitable long-term accommodation for homeless persons.
