1515 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the provision of an adequate water supply for Carraroe Village, Carraroe, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16304/02]
The Costelloe regional water supply scheme, which includes proposed improvements for the Carraroe water supply, is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2002-2004, as a scheme to advance through planning. The preliminary report for the scheme prepared by Galway County Council in 1986 will require revision and updated proposals are awaited by my Department from the council.

This scheme is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2002-2004 to advance through planning. The submission of a prelimi nary report by Galway County Council is awaited by my Department.
I also understand that the county council has carried out some interim remedial works to the existing sewerage scheme under the devolved small schemes programme.
