1586 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has sanctioned the request for funding from Mayo County Council for extensions to the Westport main drainage scheme; and if not, when the request will be sanctioned. [17205/02]
Further consideration will be given by my Department to Mayo County Council's proposals for certain extensions to this scheme, which is under construction, on receipt of the additional information requested from the council in May. An application received from the council last month to have one of the proposed extensions funded under the serviced land initiative is being examined in my Department and will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
