1601 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of houses that have been transferred to date under the Part 5 process of the Planning and Development Act, 2000, between Fingal County Council and builders and developers; and the implications of the recent circular N9-02 issued by his Department. [17497/02]
It is a matter for local authorities to agree with developers-builders the number of houses to be provided under Part V of the Planning and Development Act, 2000. However, I understand that 42 houses have been transferred to date under Part V to Fingal County Council.
The circular letter referred to dealt with the 2002 housing capital allocations for the local authority housing programmes and indicated, inter alia, that these allocations included the cost of acquiring dwellings under Part V.
