Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Ceist:

1603 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the progress which has been made regarding the proposed waste water and sewerage plant for Dungarvan, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17499/02]

This scheme is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme, 2002-2004, to commence construction this year.

Tenders have been received by Waterford County Council's in respect of the collection-transfer system and the council's tender recommendation is awaited by my Department. I understand that the council has also invited tenders for the wastewater treatment plant and the council's recommendation in this regard will also be considered on receipt in my Department.

1604 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the progress which has been made in relation to the grouped design build operate project undertaken by Waterford Council under the rural towns and villages initiative; the villages and towns included in this scheme; when he expects these projects to reach completion; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17500/02]

The Waterford towns and villages sewerage scheme will address the wastewater treatment requirements of Ardmore, Cappoquin, Dunmore East, Kilmacthomas, Kilmeaden-Ballyduff Upper, Stradbally and Tallow under a grouped design build operate project.

The scheme is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme, 2002-2004, to advance through planning and the submission of a preliminary report by Waterford County Council is awaited.

1605 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the progress which has been made regarding the provision of a proper sewerage scheme for Cheekpoint, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17501/02]

Cheekpoint sewerage scheme is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme, 2002-2004, under the rural towns and villages initiative.

The submission of contract documents for the scheme by Waterford County Council is awaited by my Department.
