Ceist:

1622 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the total budget made available to local authorities for class III local roads under the CLÁR programme in 2002; the breakdown of this on a local authority basis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16538/02]

To date, €5 million has been allocated in 2002 from the CLÁR programme to local authorities to fund works on non-national class 111 local roads in CLÁR areas.

The local authorities to whom these allocations were made are set out in the following tabular statement. This funding is designed to upgrade or repair roads or parts of roads in isolated areas within these counties.
