Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

222 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence the way in which spending in the first nine months of 2002 compares to the budgeted profile for spending for each major programme of his Department's spending; and his forecast for year end overruns. [17161/02]

The expenditure under the Defence Vote in the first nine months of 2002 was €41 million less than the original profile. The forecast for the year end is also a saving of €41 million against the original Estimate.

Expenditure under the Army Pension Vote in the first nine months was €3.5 million less than the original profile. The forecast for year end is a break even position.
