Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

262 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the ewe premium payment for 2000. [15735/02]

There are outstanding payments still due on foot of applications made by the son of the person named, deceased since May 2000, under the 2000 ewe premium and sheep headage schemes. Normally, letters of administration would be required to be taken out in such cases before the amounts due could be released. However as the amounts involved in this case are comparatively small it has been decided that if the person named signs a form of indemnity, then the amounts due can be paid directly to the person named. The form of indemnity has issued to her solicitor and as soon as it is returned to my Department arrangements will be made to have the outstanding payments made.
