338 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food his proposals to best utilise the extra funding that will become available under the modulation proposals that are part of the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy. [16474/02]
On 10 July 2002, the European Commission published a communication on its mid-term review of the Common Agricultural Policy. After consultation on this communication with the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament, the Commission intends to bring forward its detailed proposals. As this consultation process is still under way, it is not possible to predict the ultimate outcome in relation to any proposals in the communication or to indicate how Ireland would implement any of the proposals.
