Ceist:407 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance the progress which has been made in relation to the carrying out of works in an area to prevent further serious flooding occurring. [15927/02]

Consultants have been appointed to carry out feasibility studies and prepare preliminary design schemes for flood alleviation in the Mallow and Fermoy areas of County Cork. The reports for both schemes are expected to be completed early next year.
