498 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs his Department's legislative programme for the remainder of 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14398/02]
The following is my Department's legislative programme for the remainder of 2002.
The European Union Bill, 2001, which was considered in the Dáil on Committee Stage on 2 October 2002, will pass to Report Stage on 9 October 2002.
If ratification of the Treaty of Nice is approved in the forthcoming referendum, a short technical Act amending the European Communities Act will be required, as has been the case with every previous major EU treaty.
During this session, I plan to seek the approval of Dáil Éireann for the terms of the Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreements between the European Community, the member states, and (i) Egypt, (ii) Algeria, and (iii) Lebanon. I will arrange to have the three motions necessary placed on the Order Paper.
