611 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No 362 of 18 June 2002, tenders have been received for the refurbishment of Kilrusheighter national school, Templeboy, County Sligo; the reason for the delays in selecting a contractor; if he will guarantee that the works will be carried out ; if there is a firm commitment of the commencement date of the project; if he will prioritise this work in view of the inadequate conditions that exist at present; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey):

I can confirm that a tender report has been received for a major refurbishment project at Kilrusheighter national school, Templeboy, County Sligo.

However, my Department is awaiting confirmation from the school authorities that the local contribution is available. As soon as such confirmation is received the matter will be considered further.
