647 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science further to his correspondence of 10 September, 2002, the position regarding Elphin Community College, County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16536/02]
Stage 3, developed sketch scheme, for the proposed extension to Elphin Community College is currently being examined by staff in the building unit of my Department. A response will issue to County Roscommon VEC shortly.

649 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will confirm that the long promised PE hall at Firhouse Community College, Dublin 24 will be progressed to building stage; and if he appreciates the anxiety of the local community that this facility should be provided. [16552/02]
The pre-qualification of suitable contractors for the works in the school to which the deputy refers has not yet been finalised.
I am aware of the anxiety of the local community that this facility be provided therefore, when the pre-qualification process has been completed the question of allowing the works to proceed to the invitation of tenders will be considered in light of available finances and priorities presenting at that time.
