656 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will approve funding for the redevelopment of St. Mary's Hall, Boyle, and to facilitate the provision of sports facilities at Boyle Community School, County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16621/02]
St. Mary's sports centre is in the ownership of the parish of Boyle. My Department recently received confirmation from County Roscommon VEC that the parish of Boyle is willing to give a lease for the hall to the VEC for a period of 25 years. I am pleased to say that this development will allow my Department to make a capital investment in the hall. Arrangements are currently being made for staff from the building unit to visit the hall to assess the scope of works required to bring the hall in line with current Department guidelines and standards.
