699 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding the provision of a new community college at Castlepollard, County Westmeath, to replace the existing Coláiste Cionn Torc; and the progress since May 2002 in this regard. [16929/02]

The provision of a new community college at Castlepollard is at an advanced stage of architectural planning to the extent that my Department has given the County Westmeath VEC approval to proceed to tender for the project. The tender report is currently awaited.

703 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress which has been made in providing additional science laboratories and other facilities at Loreto College, Mullingar; and if he will provide a progress report on this application. [16933/02]

My Department is currently examining the school authority's stage 2 submission, that is, the outline sketch scheme. My Department's comments on the submission will issue to the school authority shortly for transmission to the design team.

McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application for a resource room at Loughnavalley national school, County Westmeath, has been approved; the date of this approval; the estimated cost of this project; when a financial allocation will be approved for this project to enable works to start; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16935/02]

The management authorities of Loughnavalley national school were given approval in February 2002 to seek tenders for the provision of a 25 square metre temporary resource room. My Department is still awaiting the submission of these tenders.
