Ceist:

952 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on the recommendations made by the Council for Children's Hospital Care for new ENT consultant appoint ments in view of the need for additional ENT resources at the children's hospitals in Dublin; his plans regarding this need; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15644/02]

Services for eligible patients at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, Temple Street Children's Hospital and The Adelaide and Meath Hospital, Dublin Incorporating the National Children's Hospital at Tallaght are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority and any proposal to develop services at these hospitals is a matter for the authority in the first instance. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to her.
