Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

141 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Taoiseach the way in which spending in the first six months of 2002 compares to the budgeted profile for spending for each major programme of his Department's spending; and the forecast for year end overruns. [15312/02]

For the information of the Deputy the following table sets out the budgeted profile and actual expenditure for the first six months of 2002 for the programmes in my Department's Vote.

It is not expected that there will be any year end overrun on the Department's Vote or on programme expenditure overall. However, it is expected that there will be a small overrun on two individual subheads, subhead C – grants under section 2 of the Soldiers and Sailors Land Trust Act, 1988 and subhead E – commemoration initiatives. This has arisen as a result of timing delays in expenditure which was expected to arise in 2001 but was subsequently met from the 2002 allocation.
