Ceist:

1066 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department will intervene with the Western Health Board on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon and have their medical card reinstated in view of the extenuating medical circumstances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

Responsibility for the provision of a medical card in this case rests with the Western Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
