Ceist:

1072 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in County Longford on a medical card has been refused a nursing home subvention for approximately 12 weeks by the Midland Health Board in order to recover after major surgery; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16260/02]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

Responsibility for the provision of health services in the Longford area rests with the Midlands Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to her directly.
