Ceist:1104 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the name of the new appeals officer for the Western Health Board; if this job was advertised; the number of people who applied for same; if the successful applicant had any connection with the health board in the past; and if the new appeals officer is independent from the health board. Responsibility for the recruitment of staff lies with the employing agency, in this case the Western Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matters raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
